Each summer Cokesbury hosts a FREE Vacation Bible School for a week during the evenings so adults can attend a bible study at the same time. Each year is a different theme where the kids learn songs, bible verses, play games and eat some yummy snacks.
Kids Church is available at the 9:30am and 11:00am Sunday service. Children years 3 through 12 are invited. The curriculum is centered around a program called Deep Blue. This curriculum includes songs, bible stories, prayers and interactive materials/crafts. Children are normally dismissed from the main service about 15-20 minutes into the service for Kids Church.
Kids actively participate in regular church service. We have kids who participate as an acolyte at 11:00am. Also at the 11:00am service we have Children's time where the kids engage in a topic about that day's sermon before Kids Church begins.
The Nursery is located in Room 8 of the Classroom Courtyard. Our attentive, background checked nursery attendants are there about fifteen minutes before worship begins to welcome little ones ages 2 and under. Children must be signed in and out of the nursery by an adult.
All kids are a big part of our Cokesbury Family. We offer our Kids Konnect programs not just on Saturday and Sunday, but throughout the year. This helps our KIDS "Konnect" through new experiences and structured programs. Each teacher and volunteer has been through certified training with the state and is well equipped to handle emergencies. Take a look at the different programs we have available.
Summer Camp for kids 4th grade through 12th grade is held at Warren Willis United Methodist Camp in Fruitland Park, Fl. Throughout the year the kids hold fundraisers to help pay their way through camp and are able to help with scholarship so all kids can attend. The kids spend four full days zip lining, tubing, doing yoga, sailing, making crafts, learning archery, and so much more! The moments that aren’t a flurry of activity are devoted to growing relationships with others and with God.
Converge is our Saturday night worship service. Kids are an active part of the service. They are engaged in a special kids only section. At the end of service the kids are invited to a show and tell about what they learned that evening and pictures or crafts they made.
